Keith Pennington - Muddy Waters: A Brief History of Chemical Regulation  Keith will talk about the development of regulations in the chemical industry and differences around the world. Enforcement issues, near-future developments and why the EU is the safest place in the world. Films like Dark Waters and Erin Brockovich have raised the profile of chemical regulation in the general public; Keith will attempt to expand on this and look at how there are significant differences in the way various countries look at this.

Keith Pennington has worked as an industrial chemist for 40 years, with the first half of his career in research and development of polymers. For the last 15-20 years Keith has been involved in chemical regulations for a global company, taking responsibility for compliance issues in countries all around the world. Keith is Chair of Lancashire Humanists Society.
