Join Edinburgh Skeptics online for the third of our four 2021 Edinburgh Science Festival events. Dr Gayle Brewer - Dark Triad Traits, Attractiveness, and Sexual Behaviour Dark  Triad traits (Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and narcissism) are  related but distinct traits characterised by a lack of empathy,  exploitation, and manipulation. Research suggests that Dark Triad traits  influence sexual and romantic relationships, for example, those high on  Dark Triad traits prefer short-term relationships and avoid long-term  commitment. This presentation will outline the relationship  between Dark Triad traits, physical attractiveness, and sexual  behaviour. In particular, negative aspects of romantic and sexual  relationships, such as infidelity, conflict, and control, will be  considered. Dr  Gayle Brewer is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. Her  research focuses on individual differences and sexual behaviour, with a  particular emphasis on sexual conflict, harassment, and coercion. She  has published over 80 journal articles and a range of books and book  chapters.
