About the Event
Almost immediately after the poisoning of Yulia and Sergei Skripal in 2018, a barrage of odd claims, conspiracy theories, strange takes, and outright untruths began circulating. In this talk, Dan will curate some of the best, the worst, and the wildest of these, and where he can, trace their provenance back to the usual suspect.
Dan Kaszeta is a London-based writer and consultant. He is currently serving at term as an
associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute. Dan has spent a 30-year career in
protection against chemical, biological, and radiological weapons. His career started in the

House Military Office, and the US Secret Service. Dan moved to the UK in 2008, where he
worked in the private sector before setting up his own consulting and writing business. He is
the author of the book “Toxic: A history of nerve agents” (2020, C. Hurst and 2021, Oxford
