About the Event
Skeptics on the Fringe presents:
Antonia Forster, Zoologist - What Is Natural: LGBTQIA+ in the Animal Kingdom
The idea that certain behaviour is "unnatural" is often used to justify bigotry, especially against people who are LGBT, polyamorous, or in any way non-traditional. But is it true?
Antonia Forster is a bisexual biologist that wants to set the record straight. What does ""natural"" mean? Do we see homosexuality in nature, and why? Are there organisms with more/fewer than two sexes? Prepare to see the animal kingdom as you've never seen it before...
Antonia Forster is a zoologist and science presenter, with an MSc in Animal Behaviour and published research. Combining personal experience, scientific expertise and comedy; Antonia is passionate about bringing science to the stage.
Antonia has performed at Wilderness Festival, the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, the Grant Museum of Zoology, We The Curious Science Centre, Kew Gardens, and BBC Radio. She delivered a TEDxBristol talk to 2000 people in Bristol's Grade II listed Colston Hall, where she came out of the closet in order to speak about polyamory and LGBTQIA+ in the animal kingdom.
